About Shareholder
Business finance comparison, built by people who have worked inside it.
Shareholder helps UK businesses understand and compare finance options. We are a comparison and referral site, not a lender. This page explains who is behind it, how it is paid and where our role ends.

Why Shareholder exists
Business finance is rarely one product. Loans, revenue-based finance, credit cards and other facilities each work differently, and the terms that matter are not always the ones that stand out first. Shareholder brings these options together in one place so owners and finance teams can see how they compare before approaching a provider.
Our aim is practical: clear explanations, side-by-side comparisons and tools such as our repayment calculator, so you can go into a conversation with a provider knowing which questions to ask.
Who is behind it
Our founding team brings 20+ years of experience across banking, including RBS and NAB, and alternative finance.
References to RBS and NAB describe the founding team’s experience. They are not endorsements of Shareholder.

How we are paid
Shareholder receives referral fees, commissions and advertising payments from providers and commercial partners, including payments for clicks on links or calls to action, leads and referrals. Providers shown or linked to may have a commercial relationship with us. We never charge clients directly. Any interest, fees or charges for a provider’s products are separate and set by that provider.
- Referral feespayments for introducing potential customers to providers.
- Commissionspayments relating to introductions or finance products.
- Advertising paymentsincluding payments for clicks on links or calls to action.
- Leadspayments for introducing potential customers, such as through a submitted enquiry.
We tell you this so you can weigh what you see here. Always read a provider's own terms before applying, and consider options that may not appear on our site.
